3D printed lid variant

13 May 2016

For those who dreamt of having their own Astro Pi flight case, we gave you the learning resource to create your own 3D printed version.

Following the instructions carefully would produce a convincing replica, but we want to encourage you to mix things up a bit with your own ideas and variations. The previous lid design had 10 mm button holes that would accommodate the APEM buttons used on the real Astro Pi flight units.

What if you don’t want to use those buttons?

Good news: now you don’t have to. We’ve updated our lid design with pilot holes where the buttons go. You can then drill these holes to size and fit your chosen button, whether they’re clicky ones, red ones or shiny ones.

Here is the updated learning resource with download links for the new STL file.
