The call for the 2017-18 European Astro Pi challenge is open! For the third year running, we are inviting teams of European school students up to 19 years old to enter the competition and have their code run on the International Space Station (ISS).
ESA astronauts Paolo Nespoli and Alexander Gerst are our proud ambassadors this year. Paolo Nespoli is already onboard the ISS, and he has prepared a special video message inviting you to accept the challenge!
ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli launches the European Astro Pi Challenge for the school year 2017 – 2018. On board the ISS there are two Astro Pi computers – nicknamed Ed and Izzy – that are available to run students experiments which make use of computer coding and computer sensors to be executed.
